The Department of Sport Management and Leadership Studies is a vital and active participant in the intellectual growth, career preparation, and physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of Kutztown University students. The Department of Sport Management and Leadership Studies offers areas of study leading to careers in professional and collegiate sports, athletic coaching, the fitness industry and sport related industries. Additionally, the department offers a selection of courses designed to assist a student in exploring a variety of lifelong recreational activities and developing knowledge and skills contributing to sensible health and lifestyle decisions. Department faculty members are student-oriented professionals who use a variety of active and experiential learning strategies and methods to promote student learning and success.
The Sport Management degree program at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania has received specialized accreditation through the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) located in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. The sport management program in the following degree are accredited by COSMA: Bachelor of Science in Sport Management.

Students from Kutztown University have been hired at the Reading Fightin's, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys, the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, Pocono Raceway, Center Ice, Kelly's Sports, and various other sport businesses.
