The Clinical Experience Program

Clinical Experience (student teaching) has been the capstone experience for our education majors. Kutztown University has been a leader in the preparation of highly qualified teacher candidates ready to become the future teachers of our nation's youth.

A Pennsylvania Department of Education approved teacher certification program, Kutztown University is also accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). With KU and NCATE emphasis on content knowledge, professional knowledge and practice in the classroom, the teacher candidate enters the clinical experience ready to deal with the day-to-day demands of today's classroom.

Teacher candidates are assigned clinical experience placements within a forty-mile radius of Kutztown University. Currently, the Clinical Experience Office has partnerships with over 80 school districts. Additionally, Kutztown University has partnered with classrooms in Puerto Rico, Alaska, and Arizona, enabling our students to have unique student teaching experiences.
