Counselor Education AND Student Affairs
Prepare for meaningful work supporting student well-being, growth, and success through counseling and student affairs pathways. The CESA department offers CACREP-accredited graduate counseling programs and a Student Affairs in Higher Education master’s program.
Elementary, Middle Level, Library, AND Learning Technologies
Explore pathways that prepare you for early childhood education, support literacy, build engaging learning environments, and lead instruction with effective tools and strategies. Programs in this department include Elementary Education, Library Science, Instructional Technology, Reading Specialist options, and more.
Secondary Education
If you’re passionate about a subject (like English, Social Studies, or STEM), Secondary Education helps you turn that enthusiasm into powerful instruction. The department supports certification in 7–12 subject areas and offers additional pathways including English as a Second Language Endorsement, and Principal and Supervisory certifications.
Special Education
Prepare to support students with diverse learning needs through programs leading to PK–12 special education certification, plus distinctive opportunities such as visual impairment preparation and related minors and endorsements.

On September 22-23, Kutztown University will host an initial accreditation visit by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP). In preparation for the visit, the AAQEP Quality Review Team is soliciting public comment about the quality of educator preparation provided by Kutztown University, based on AAQEP’s 2025 expectations framework.
