Micro-Credential in Inclusive Practices
Teach Every Learner in Your Classroom
The Micro-Credential in Inclusive Practices is available to students in any major to build practical skills for supporting learners with disabilities and creating accessible, inclusive environments.
This three-course micro-credential results in a digital Inclusive Practices badge verified through Credly that can be added to a résumé, LinkedIn profile, email signature, or job application so employers can confirm the credential and see what students completed to earn it.
Through this micro-credential, students strengthen their understanding of:
- Disability and accessibility
- Individualized Education Programs (IEP)
- Accessible instruction
- Inclusive practices
- Collaboration with families and school professionals
How It Works
- Complete the three required courses. (Register the way you would for anything else: there's nothing to apply for up front.)
- Earn a grade of B or better in each course.
- Submit a short application to the Department of Special Education after all three grades have posted.
- Once coursework is verified, Credly will email you to claim your badge!
-
Required Coursework — 9 credits
Core courses:
- SPEE 201 Cognitive Development of Diverse Learners in a Standards-Aligned System
- SPEE 314 Effective Instructional Strategies for Students with Disabilities in Inclusive Settings

- SPEE 313 Making Content Area Instruction Accessible for Students with Disabilities
Notes regarding courses:
