The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Daniel J. Metzger entitled, "Journaling on the Transition to College: Foucauldian Approaches in the First-Year Writing Classroom." The defense took place Friday, March 19th, 2021. The Dissertation Committee was chaired by Dr. Mark Wolfmeyer with committee members Dr. Catherine McGeehan and Dr. Amy Lynch-Biniek.

The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Daniel E. McClary entitled, "In Search of Kinship: Traveling Into New Worlds Through Conversation and the Impact on Building Community." The defense took place Thursday, May 13th, 2021 at 2pm. The Dissertation Committee was chaired by Dr. Andrew Miness with committee members Dr. Catherine McGeehan and Dr. Brenda Muzeta

RICHMAN MATHIS II ED.D DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Richman Mathis II. The defense took place Thursday, May 20th, 2021 at 10am. The Dissertation Committee was chaired by Dr. Andrew Miness with committee members Dr. Flannery O'Connor and Dr. Mark Wolfmeyer.

BRITTANY PURR-BREHONY ED.D DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Brittany Purr-Brehony entitled, "Transforming the Urban Educator: The Power of Reflection and Its Effect on Teacher Perception, Essential Teaching Dispositions, and Teacher Leadership." The defense took place Friday, April 9th, 2021. The Dissertation Committee was chaired by Dr. Andrew Miness with committee members Dr. Catherine McGeehan and Mrs. Geina Beaver.

NICOLE M. WACK ED.D DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Nicole M. Wack entitled, "Bridging Barriers in Inclusive Classrooms: Avenues for Communication between General Education Teachers and Families." The defense took place Monday, April 19th, 2021. The Dissertation Committee was chaired by Dr. Mark Wolfmeyer with committee members Dr. Catherine McGeehan and Dr. Amy Pfeiler-Wunder.

SAMANTHA G. PILLER ED.D DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Samantha G. Piller entitled, "Stakeholder Perspectives: How Participation in a Work-Based Learning Program Affects Perceptions." The defense took place Thursday, April 1st, 2021. The Dissertation Committee was chaired by Dr. Mark Wolfmeyer with committee members Dr. Andrew Miness and Dr. Diane King.

CATHY A. SHAPPELL ED.D DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Cathy A. Shappell entitled, "Breaking Barriers and Bread to Build Bridges: How do Latina/o families and schools develop meaningful home-school relationships?" The defense took place Monday, March 29th, 2021. The Dissertation Committee was chaired by Dr. Catherine McGeehan with committee members Dr. Andrew Miness and Dr. Roula Elliker.

HEATHER OSBORN ED.D DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Heather Osborn entitled, "The Writing for Healing and Transformation Project." The defense took place Monday, March 22nd, 2021. The Dissertation Committee was chaired by Dr. Mark Wolfmeyer with committee members Dr. Andrew Miness and Dr. Amy Pfeiler-Wunder.

DENISE BOSLER ED.D DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Denise Bosler entitled "How Will I Thrive? Developing Designer Professional Identity Among Undergraduate Communication Design Students." The defense took place Monday, February 15th, 2021 via Zoom. Denise's Dissertation Committee was chaired by Dr. Catherine McGeehan with committee members Dr. Mark Wolfmeyer and Dr. Amy Pfeiler-Wunder.

ELIZABETH EHRIG SCHUCKER ED.D DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Elizabeth Schucker entitled "Changed Agents: Cultivating Students’ Civic Identity Through Participation in a Social Justice-Themed Book Club as a Subversive Approach to Critical Literacy in Education." The defense took place Monday, March 8th, 2021 via Zoom. Elizabeth's Dissertation Committee was chaired by Dr. Catherine McGeehan with committee members Dr. Andrew Miness and Dr. Terre Sychterz.
