LORI G. BERRYMAN ED.D. DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education is hosted a public, oral dissertation defense by Lori G. Berryman entitled "Another Empty Seat: Educators’ Experiences with Trauma and Grief After a Student Death." The defense took place on Friday, April 15th, 2022 at 9:00 am via Zoom. Lori's dissertation committee was chaired by Dr. Kathleen Stanfa, with committee members Dr. Patricia Walsh Coates and Dr. Scott Tracy.

KARISE FINK MACE ED.D. DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public, oral dissertation defense by Karise Fink Mace entitled "Mathematics is Art: The Impact of a Non-traditional Metaphor on Teacher Mindset and Instructional Practices in Mathematics." The defense took place on Monday, April 18th, 2022 at 3:30 pm via Zoom. Karise's dissertation committee was chaired by Dr. Michele White, with committee members Dr. Kathleen Stanfa and Dr. Erin Kraal.

KAREN A. LADLEY ED.D. DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public, oral dissertation defense by Karen A. Ladley entitled "Learning to Navigate the Unknown: The Importance of Critical Reflection and Collaboration for Community College Faculty During a Pandemic." The defense took place on Thursday, April 7th, 2022 at 10 am via Zoom. Karen's dissertation committee is chaired by Dr. Brenda Muzeta, with committee members Dr. Michele White and Dr. Cheryl Doll.

MARYJO ROSANIA-HARVIE ED.D. DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public, oral dissertation defense by MaryJo Rosania-Harvie entitled "Strength, Beauty, and Resilience: The Impact of Self Reflection & Exploration of Memory on Postmodern Feminist Educators, Inside and Outside the Classroom." The defense took place on Friday, April 8th, 2022 at 9:45 am via Zoom. MaryJo's dissertation committee is chaired by Dr. Kathleen Stanfa with committee members Dr. Amy Pfeiler-Wunder, and Dr. Michele White.

MELANIE TURRANO ED.D. DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public, oral dissertation defense by Melanie Turrano entitled "The Recovery Coach: An Intentional, Relational Interventionist as a Response to the COVID-19 Incomplete Grade Trend." The defense took place on Thursday, March 10th, 2022 via Zoom. Melanie's dissertation committee was chaired by Dr. Kathleen Stanfa, with committee members Dr. Michele White and Dr. Amy Pfeiler-Wunder.

TRACY DRIEHAUS ED.D. DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public, oral dissertation defense by Tracy Driehaus entitled "Blinded by Whiteness: Middle-Class White Teachers’ Explorations of Identity and Deficit Discourse at the Intersection of Race, Class, and Perceived Ability." The defense took place on Thursday, March 10th, 2022 via Zoom. Tracy's dissertation committee was chaired by Dr. Michele White, with committee members Dr. Brenda Muzeta and Dr. Amy Pfeiler-Wunder.

AMANDA HOLBROOK ED.D. DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public, oral dissertation defense by Amanda Holbrook entitled, "A Critical Analysis of Cultura in Spanish World Language Textbooks." The defense took place on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022 via Zoom. Amanda's dissertation committee was chaired by Dr. Brenda Muzeta, with committee members Dr. Patricia Walsh Coates and Dr. Kathryn Accurso.

JANE AMMON ED.D. DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public, oral dissertation defense by Jane Ammon entitled "Decentering Whiteness in Teacher Education Through a Creative Self Study of Womanist Pedagogy." The defense took place Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022 via Zoom. Jane's dissertation committee is chaired by Dr. Brenda Muzeta, with committee members Dr. Amy Pfeiler-Wunder and Dr. Michele White.

PAUL WALSH ED.D. DISSERTATION DEFENSE

The College of Education hosted a public oral dissertation defense by Paul Walsh entitled "Writing through Whiteness: Utilizing Personal Narratives to Strengthen the Racial Competency of White Teachers." The defense took place Friday, February 11th, 2022 via Zoom. Paul's dissertation committee was chaired by Dr. Kathleen Stanfa, with committee members Dr. Brenda Muzeta and Dr. Samuel J. Tanner.
