Majors & Minors
Graduates of our programs acquire the knowledge of how communication functions as well the skills to communicate interpersonally, in small groups, in the workplace and with the use of media. Communication Studies majors and minors can pursue employment in a wide range of industries including business, not-for-profit organizations, media companies, hospitals/health care agencies, public relations/advertising firms, and jobs in politics/government, training/education, performing arts/entertainment and human resource sectors. In addition, our new minor and major programs in Social Media Theory and Strategy enable students to apply social media expertise in creative and innovative ways to meet strategic business objectives with digital marketing techniques that boost sales, create brand loyalty and promote social change. Finally, our minor in Performance and Storytelling lets students discover the importance of writing, acting, and performing for the communication process.
