The GLBTQ Resource Center hosts a number of events during the semester. Registration for some event can be found here.

Below is a complete list of the Fall 2018 semester's events. 

GLBTQ Resource Center Open House

Aug. 30, 6 p.m. - GLBTQ Center (OM 4) The center is hosting open house tours and introductions for those who would like to check out the center.


Sept. 13, 6 p.m. - AF 103 The center is hosting a discussion panel on LGBT issues. 

2n Annual Gender and Sexual Minorities Conference

Sept. 28, 9 a.m. - MSU Room 218 This year's conference theme is Intersectionality with a focus on Queer People of Color. Keynote speaker, Evan Thornberg, Deputy Director of the Mayor's Office of LGBT Affairs for the City of Philadelphia will present at 10 a.m.

It's On Us Speak Out

Oct. 4, 7 p.m. MSU Room 223 Students are invited to share personal stories, poetry, and spoken word in this inclusive open mic that embraces people of all backgrounds and recognized the unique challenges that LGBTQ people face in relation to sexual violence. We welcome students to write and perform pieces about bystander intervention, sexual assault, and consent, as well as the LGBT community.

National Coming Out Day Awareness Fair

Oct. 11, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Old Main Concourse The GLBTQ Center will be celebrating National Coming Out Day with baked goods and activities. 

Rocky Horror Picture Show

Oct. 25, 7 p.m. - MSU Room 218 KU's all-inclusive, on-campus lgbt group, Allies will be hosting an interactive screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show will be presented by KU's all-inclusive lgbtq group, Allies.

Delfin Bautista presents 'Religion, Gender, and Sexuality'

Nov. 13, 7 p.m. - MSU Room 218 Delfin Bautista, the Director of the LGBT at Ohio University, will present on religion, gender, and sexuality, and how they are connected. 

Transgender Day of Remembrance

Nov. 15, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Old Main Councourse In addition to the national day of remembrance (Nov. 20), the GLBTQ Resource Center will be celebrating Transgender Day of remembrance to honor those who have lost their lives in violence against the transgender community. 

Lavender Grads

Dec. 6, 11 a.m. - GLBTQ Center (Old Main 4) The GLBTQ Center will host a celebration for all graduating students who have participated in our GLBTQ and Women's Center's organizations during their years at KU, including Allies, Lambda Delta Xi Diaternity, and FMLA. All are welcome.

Safe Space Training

Time & Location TBD The GLBTQ Center offers the opportunity to become a Safe Space advocate through our Safe Space training, which can be set up for individuals or groups/organizations. If you would like to set up a training session, contact the center.
