Problem: "My Chromecast won't connect to the internet"
Chromecast is designed primarily for small home networks and does not work on ResNet WiFi.
BACKGROUND: Although it is possible to overcome some of the technical limitations of Chromecast to allow casting on ResNet WiFi, there is no way to restrict access. Because Chromecast is designed for the home, it assumes that anyone on your WiFi network should be permitted to cast video/audio to your device. On campus, that would mean any of 4,000 other residents could hijack your Chromecast at any time, and you would have no way to prevent it.
