Message from President Cavalier

Hello Golden Bears,
I hope you have settled into a good work routine, are attending events, and enjoying life on our beautiful campus.
I am aware that the last four weeks have been stressful for many members of our KU community due to some disturbing occurrences on campus. I want to assure you that we take your safety and wellbeing very seriously.
University Police and the administration have assessed and responded to each incident, following the protocols and procedures in place that help keep our campus safe. I realize, however, that following procedures and handling incidents appropriately does not always ease anxiety or offer peace of mind.
Caring for our community is a shared responsibility. If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or have questions, please reach out to a campus resource you trust: a staff member, someone in the Dean of Students office, a professor, a member of the KU Counseling Center, or others. Please continue to report concerning behaviors and please continue to care and support one another.
Together, we can make KU a place that is welcoming, engaging, and feels like home.
Sincerely,
Dr. Phil Cavalier
President
