How Austin Can Help
Here are some of the academic recovery and support services offered:
- Personalized academic support meetings where students can navigate setbacks and develop a recovery plan
- Academic skill-building sessions for: time management, study skills, note-taking, test-taking, goal-setting, and motivation
- Referrals to other university resources like the Counseling Center, Disability Services Office, Student Assistance Office, and the Career Development Center
- Assistance in navigating university policies and procedures regarding academic warning and probation
- KU Succeed – an academic recovery program designed to help students improve their academic skills
- Student Success Workshops – presentations designed to help students improve their academic skills

About Austin
Dr. Austin Haytko is a first-generation college graduate who holds a Doctorate in Education from Concordia University – Chicago, where his research focused on the perceived value of higher education from the lens of sub-cultures. Austin also earned a master’s degree in Higher Education from Northeastern University and a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Vermont.
With a decade of experience in higher education, Austin has worked at small colleges and large state universities. Austin has worked in several areas of higher education including; advising, student conduct, student life, academic affairs, and teaching. Austin has held multiple positions in professional organizations and won awards for his work with students. His work centers on holistic mentorship, promoting academic success, and aiding student persistence and graduation.
