The following award information is effective for the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 admissions cycle.
International First-Year Undergraduate Merit-Based Scholarships
First-time undergraduate degree seeking students who intend to enroll full-time at Kutztown University on a non-immigrant visa that allows them to study in the U.S. are automatically eligible for consideration of merit scholarships. These scholarships are automatically applied upon admission and are based solely on an unweighted U.S. calculated 4.0 GPA scale.

International Transfer Undergraduate Merit-Based Scholarships
Transfer undergraduate degree seeking students who intend to enroll full-time at Kutztown University on a non-immigrant visa that allows them to study in the U.S. are automatically eligible for consideration of merit scholarships. These scholarships are automatically applied upon admission and are based solely on an unweighted U.S. calculated 4.0 GPA scale.

Honors Scholarship - Sesquicentennial Academic Honors Scholarship
This is a merit-based scholarship for admitted first year students enrolled in the Honors Program.
- $7,000 per year for four years
- Requirements to be eligible:
- 1410 total on the SAT or 31 composite on the ACT
- Above average secondary school GPA of 3.5
- Requirements to maintain scholarship:
- Complete a minimum of 30 credits per year
- Live on campus for the first three years
- Maintain a GPA of 2.5
International Student Waivers / Reductions
A "waiver" is similar to a scholarship but it will not appear on a KU bill. A waiver is a reduction in the amount of tuition you are charged rather than money that is provided to your account directly. These waivers are needs-based and require a separate application.
Out-of-State Undergraduate Tuition Reduction
Qualifying undergraduate and graduate full-time degree-seeking international applicants attending Kutztown University will automatically be considered for the 40% Out-of-State Tuition Reduction, which provides tuition savings for undergraduate students who meet the eligibility requirements at the time of application. This rate is provided only to students enrolled full time. and is stackable with merit scholarships.

International Student Tuition Waiver
A limited number of these 20% tuition reductions are available to new incoming international undergraduate students and are offered on a rolling basis until all funding is given. This waiver is stackable with merit scholarships.

- Undergraduate student.
- Have not previously earned a bachelor's degree.
Requirements to maintain scholarship:
- Required to maintain full-time student status.
- Must have a good conduct/disciplinary standing.
- Must have no outstanding bills/debts at Kutztown University.
Economic Hardship Waiver
A limited number of these waivers are available to current international students who demonstrate that they, or their financial sponsors, have experienced significant changes in their financial conditions and the changes have created an unforeseen financial hardship affecting the student's ability to afford living or educational expenses.

Transfer Housing Award
Transfer students are automatically awarded the following when they submit a transcript showing an associate’s degree being completed. The Transfer Book Award is a one-time award of $500 to be utilized in the KU Campus Book Store. The Transfer Housing Award is $1,000 (per year) or $500 per term) and is renewable for a second year.
Summer Tuition Waiver (Full-Tuition or Partial-Tuition)
A limited number of full-tuition and partial-tuition (50%) waivers are available to current graduate international students. The waiver is limited to one, 3-credit course in either the Summer 1 or Summer 2 term. The course must be in-person and cannot be used towards individual instruction or independent study. The student is still responsible for paying KU fees.

Other Funding OPPORTUNITIES
Graduate Assistantships
These positions are available to admitted Master's degree students and provide a tuition waiver and stipend for working a position with an office or academic department at Kutztown University. For more information view the Graduate studies website.
Working on Campus
International students may work on campus (at an office or academic department at Kutztown University) up to 20 hours a week while enrolled in a fall or spring term. This provides the potential to earn between $2,000 - $5,000 annually depending on your pay rate, position, the number of hours you work, and if you work over breaks. International students are permitted to work more than 20 hours during the academic breaks
Payment Plans
Payment plans are available (not required) for the fall and spring semesters. They require a $35 enrollment fee for each term you want to sign up for a plan. More information can be found here.
