Transfer Orientation Program
Transfer Orientation will take place online through ZOOM this summer. At orientation, students will learn about academics, important resources, how to pay your bill and student life at KU. We’ll also discuss important next steps in helping you to obtain your fall course schedule.
Prepare for Your Orientation
1. Register for your orientation date.
Orientation is a requirement for all new students. Register Today! Check your KU Student email regularly for updates and ZOOM codes.
2. IF you are not transferring credit equivalent to MAT 017 (Introduction to Mathematics), or higher, you must take the ALEKS Math Placement Assessment.
Do this before your orientation. It takes 72 hours to process your score. If you have questions about your transfer credits, call the Office of the Registrar at 610-683-4485. For technical issues with the assessment, please contact Dr. Paul Ache, Chair of the Department of Mathematics, at email@example.com or 610-683-4410.
If your major requires more than introductory math, you must take the assessment. If you have any questions about your program of study and the mathematics requirement, please speak with your academic advisor or department chair.
3. Would you like to earn 9 free credits? Take the Modern Language Placement.
The placement exam is only for students with previous language experience who want to continue studying that same language.
4. Change of Major Requests
For questions about your current major or to change your major, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
5. Stay Connected with NSO
Visit our Stay Connected! Page to learn about other events that NSO is hosting throughout the summer.
