Dr. Andy Thierauf is a Philadelphia based percussionist specializing in the creation and performance of contemporary music. As a performer, he has appeared across the country at music festivals, conferences, and symposiums including SEAMUS and PASIC. Andy's creative research centers on seamlessly integrating technology into performance to produce collaborative, multi-media presentations with writers, dancers, actors, choreographers, and composers. In 2016 he self-published a collection of works for solo percussion and live electronics available here.

Andy is half of stb x at, a dance/percussion duo with dancer and choreographer Sean Thomas Boyt. The ensemble has performed at various universities, art galleries, and non-traditional venues across the Midwest and East coast. He is also a founding member of Arcana New Music Ensemble and the collaborative multimedia collective PhillyAV. As well as performing, Andy is the managing director for Bowerbird, an arts presenter focused on new and experimental work.

In addition to teaching percussion lessons at Kutztown University, Andy teaches percussion and music production at Settlement Music School and is on the PAS Music Technology Committee.
