Prof. Connor French

Connor French teaches courses in music theory and aural skills at Kutztown University. His collegiate musical career originally focused in audio engineering as he completed his bachelor’s degree in Music and Sound Recording from the University of New Haven. Additionally, his master's degree was concentrated in Music Theory from the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music. He is currently a PhD candidate for Music Theory at the University of Kentucky, where his dissertation research focuses on Rondo Form. Other areas of research that Connor is involved in include eighteenth and nineteenth-century music and Schenkerian Analysis. Before coming to KU, Connor taught music theory courses as an adjunct instructor at The Hartt School, and as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Kentucky. Originally a saxophonist, Connor is also a woodwind doubler in clarinet and flute, and enjoys playing in Pit Orchestras and other group ensembles whenever possible.
