Practicum/Internship
The office of Counseling & Psychological Services is proud to offer one- and two-semester practicum/internship programs aimed at training masters- and doctoral-level graduate students to provide professional psychological services in a university setting. The availability of training positions is contingent upon sufficient staffing of faculty counselor supervisors. Please view the Training & Employment for Graduate Students Overview page for the current status of training position availability.
The two-semester practicum/internship at Kutztown University offers doctoral- and masters-level students individual supervision with an experienced clinician and a group training experience on a weekly basis. The group training provides practicum students with information and training in numerous areas related to counseling. Case presentations allow practicum students to solicit different perspectives and feedback from fellow students and from an experienced counselor.
A one-semester practicum experience is also offered in the spring semester. This placement is designed to meet the needs of graduate students wishing to complete a 100-hour placement and provides weekly supervision with an experienced clinician.
All practicum/internship students are expected to follow Kutztown University's calendar for the academic year. This may require some students to start or end earlier or later than what is expected at their home institution.
