KU Military and Veterans Services honors KU alumnus veterans with its Spirit Award. The Spirit Award is presented to a KU alumnus who honorably served in the U.S. Armed Forces and who continues to serve the military or veteran community by demonstrating a spirit of service that goes above and beyond normal duties.

The recipient is presented their award by KU's president during the university's annual military appreciation football game.  The 2025 game is scheduled on Saturday, 11/01/2025.

2024 Award Recipient

In honor of KU Military & Veterans Services 11-year anniversary, the 2024-2025 Veteran Alumni Spirit Award could not have been designated to a more deserving individual.  This year's recipient has not only served in the U.S. Armed Forces, but has also provided continuous dedication, support, advocacy, and unyielding positive reagrd to Kutztown University and the Kutztown Veteran community.  We wish him and his family the best of luck as he retires from his position at Kutztown University and moves on to his next chapter.
