Residence Halls

Traditional Halls
KU’s traditional halls are primarily used to house our first year students. The majority of rooms in traditional halls are double occupancy, which means it is one room with two occupants and share community bathroom on the wing. In all of our traditional halls, student staffs present programs to meet the needs of the variety of students. Living in our traditional halls, requires students to select one of our required meal plans.

Suite-Style Halls
KU’s suite-style rooms have bedrooms and a full bathroom within the suite. Some suites have a common living space as well, such as a living room. The residence life staffs provide activities and programs as they do in the traditional halls. Living in our suite-style halls, requires students to select one of our required meal plans.

Campus Apartments

Apartment-style residences feature full kitchens, furnished living areas, and bedrooms. Our apartments are located on both the south and west sides of campus. Most apartments are four-person, five-person, or six-person,   however there are also limited number of efficiency apartments for one-person available in Dixon Hall. The residence life staffs provide activities and programs as they do in the traditional halls.

The apartments have living room furnishings, with a dining table and chairs, a sofa, chairs, and end table. All of these items must stay in the living room the entire year. They cannot be removed or placed in storage. Additionally each apartment has a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove and oven (except Golden Bear Village West).
