Outreach

Here are a few of the outreach activities that the Kutztown University Department of Mathematics is spearheading to share our love of mathematics with the community:

American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 8 and 10

The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice competition in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills.  Students in grade 8 or below are eligible to participate.

The AMC 10 is a 25-question, 75-minute, multiple choice examination in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.  Students in grade 10 or below are eligible to participate.

High School Math Day for Girls

The goal of this event is to interest young women in continuing to study mathematics and to pursue careers involving mathematics, the sciences, technology and engineering by offering role models and mentors.

Math Kangaroo Day

The Math Kangaroo Competition is an international event, held every year on the third Thursday in March.  It is open to students in grades 1-12.  Kutztown University has been a Math Kangaroo Center since 2017.
