Outreach
Here are a few of the outreach activities that the Kutztown University Department of Mathematics is spearheading to share our love of mathematics with the community:
American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 8, 10, and 12
The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice competition in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills. Middle school students in grades 8 and below, with a maximum age of under 15.5 years on the day of the competition, are eligible to participate.

The AMC 10 and AMC 12 are 25-question, 75-minute, multiple choice examinations in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.
High school students in grades 10 and below, with a maximum age of under 17.5 years on the day of the competition, are eligible to participate in AMC 10.
High school students in grades 12 and below, with a maximum age of under 19.5 years on the day of the competition, are eligible to participate in AMC 12.

Math Kangaroo Day
The Math Kangaroo Competition is an international event, held every year on the third Thursday in March. It is open to students in grades 1-12. Kutztown University has been a Math Kangaroo Center since 2017.
High School Math Day for Girls
The goal of this event was to interest young women in continuing to study mathematics and to pursue careers involving mathematics, the sciences, technology and engineering by offering role models and mentors. It is now part of the Kutztown University Girls in STEM Symposium.
