Social Work at Kutztown University will provide high quality, nationally accredited curricula and program activities that respond to the diverse and ever-changing social needs of our rural, suburban, and urban communities, students, employers, and the profession of social work. Through focused scholarship, innovative and collaborative practice, and service to the community, undergraduate Social Work students will be prepared to provide generalist practice; MSW graduates will be prepared for advanced generalist practice with a Family-in-Environment practice perspective, and doctoral level graduates will be prepared for organizational leadership and teaching in higher education.
The Social Work Program at Kutztown University will be widely recognized for:
- Responding to the community's needs by preparing social work professionals, leaders, and educators through BSW, MSW, and DSW programs
- Responding to the students' needs for accessible, affordable, and quality Social Work education across the social work education continuum
- Establishing Kutztown University as a leader for cooperative partnerships with community social service industry, for research and development of innovative practices
- Providing leadership in responding to the social needs in the region from a local and global perspective through programming and a diverse faculty body.

There are fantastic opportunities here. Do not hold back from seeking them out. Also, get to know your professors. They can and will help you.BARBE FOGARTY, DSW 2020
Going through the social work department is the best feeling. Seeing smiles on everyone's faces, doors opened. I never felt more passionate about anything. I'm glad to call myself a Social Work who graduated from Kutztown University.Brittany Fields, BSW 2020
The opportunity to learn from and grow alongside of the social work staff has been the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me. I found my passion and it was all because of them.Sarah Rozany, BSW 2020
The material was taught in ways I could understand and can apply to many situations in life, and not just from within the social work profession. The instructors were very helpful and made it easy to receive help if I ever had questions or needed assistance. My overall impression is one that is positive because I have experienced many good student/instructor relationships that has allowed me to grow as a social work student.Soni Diaz, BSW 2021
