Retirement Gathering for Karen Essig

Please join us in wishing Karen Essig a fond farewell as she retires from KU after 17 years of service. Her contribution to the mission of the university was epic, and her integral part in the success of the Office of the Registrar will be valued and remembered. She will be greatly missed. We will be hosting a reception for Karen 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 317 Stratton. There will cake and light refreshments. Please swing by and wish Karen well as she begins the next chapter in her life.

Sabbatical Applications Collection 2023

The Sabbatical Leave Committee will be available 1-3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2-3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 1, in 130 Lytle Hall to collect your sabbatical applications for Fall 2024-Spring 2025. Please bring one original copy and seven back-to-back photocopies of your application for the sabbatical committee to review. Each application should include the following items: signed verification of eligibility form from the provost's office (signatures of the applicant and the provost representative are required), signed application form (signatures of the dean, the department chair and the applicant are required), written sabbatical proposal and updated CV. More sabbatical application information including the forms and rubrics can be found here on the APSCUF-KU website.

Athletics

KU to Add Men's Swimming as Its 23rd Varsity Sport

Kutztown University will add men's swimming to its varsity sports roster for the 2024-25 academic year. The new sport will support the university's strategic enrollment efforts while enhancing the Golden Bears women's swimming roster. Men's swimming will increase KU's varsity intercollegiate programs to 23, including 14 women's programs and nine men's programs.
