Jazz Ensemble Wins DownBeat Magazine Student Music Award
Kutztown University’s Jazz Ensemble I has been honored by the DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards with the Outstanding Performance Award in the category of Undergraduate Jazz Ensemble College Performance. The DownBeat Student Music Awards recognize the top jazz ensembles at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Software Engineering Students Present Capstone Projects at 2024 Demo Day
Kutztown University students majoring in Computer Science and Information Technology presented their capstone projects on software engineering as part of the department’s 2024 Demo Day Wednesday, May 1, McFarland Student Union. Demo Day is the culmination of two semesters on the analysis, design, code, integration and test of students’ projects.

Elaine Bonfitto Retirement Celebration
Please join us to celebrate Elaine Bonfitto's more than 20 years of connecting artists, patrons and future arts advocates. Over the years, she has brought thousands of local school children to experience live performing arts, planned patron receptions, dinners and artist encounters, ensured everyone had the right food and most importantly, shared her passion for the arts. Please help us thank her for all the years of service and dedication 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 200 Schaeffer Auditorium. We didn't let her plan her own event.
KU Presents!
Campuswide Grass Fertilizer and Weed Control Application
TruGreen will be on campus Tuesday, May 14. They will be applying a fertilzer and weed control to all grass areas on campus. Please avoid going on the grass until the grass has dried, which is usually within 30 minutes, depending on the weather. Thank you.

Partial North Campus Power Shutdown Notice
In order to support the Poplar House renovation project, a partial North Campus power shutdown will be required at 7 a.m. Saturday, May 18. The target time for power restoration is 11 a.m. This shutdown will impact the following buildings/facilities:
- Beekey Education Center.
- Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center.
- de Francesco Building.
- Rohrbach Library.
- Lytle Hall.
- Rickenbach Research and Learning Center.
- McFarland Student Union.
- North Water Tower.

Seven from No. 12 Women's Lacrosse Earn All-PSAC East Accolades
A near-program-record seven members of the No. 12 Kutztown University women's lacrosse team received All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference recognition, voted on by the head coaches and announced Wednesday. Shannon Lake (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford), Emma Meakim (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland), Sam Graf (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) and Cyrose Conteh (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) all were named to the First Team, while Lailah ElBouazzaoui (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan), Summer Davis (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) and Robin Spector (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) were on the Second Team. It is the third All-PSAC honor for Conteh, Graf and ElBouazzaoui and the second for Meakim, Lake and Spector. The seven selections are the second most in program history and the most since the program was brought back in 2007. The 1982 team had eight all-conference selections.
