Celebrate Black History Month 2026 at Kutztown University
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – February is Black History Month. Established in 1976, Black History Month honors the contributions of African Americans to U.S. history, science, mathematics, literature, art, music and culture. Kutztown University celebrates the month with events for the entire community.
The Multicultural Center (MCC) aims to celebrate and honor cultures and communities year-round. Get involved by contacting multicultural@kutztown.edu.
The Rohrbach Library has made numerous resources available digitally for Black History Month. DEI LibGuide lists resources the library has on topics of diversity, equity, justice and inclusion. It also hosts a blog for Black History Month, a resource guide for veterans and a hip-hop guide.
Ujima Conference: Feb. 5-25
The Ujima Conference is an annual celebration of African and Black heritage held during the month of February. This year, the conference will take on a new and exciting format. Rather than a traditional three-day conference, Ujima will feature a series of events throughout the month of February that center the wealth, beauty and significance of Black and African culture, historically and in the present day.
Over the span of three weeks, students, staff and members of the Golden Bear community will come together to engage in programming that celebrates the richness of Black America and the African diaspora through education, reflection and community building.

- The importance of investing in the future, through family, career, community, and legacy.

This theme encourages students to reflect on how understanding our roots informs the paths we build forward.
