Patrick Moyer Named KU Employee of the Month for January 2025

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Congratulations to Patrick Moyer, assistant director of Admissions, on being named Kutztown University Employee of the Month for January 2025.
Moyer’s nomination from Ryan Murphy, assistant director of Admissions, and Megan Hanaway, graduate assistant for Undergraduate Admissions, reads:
Murphy:
“Patrick has been instrumental in the growth of our out-of-state population, especially in New Jersey and Delaware. While covering North and Central New Jersey and the entire state of Delaware, Patrick has brought in many students who have succeeded at KU. What is especially impressive is the community of students from Delaware that have come to KU, with several Delaware students becoming tour guides. Patrick, who now helps oversee the tour guides, has bonded with these students from Delaware, forming a connection to their high schools.
Patrick suggested we bring Brandywine High School in Delaware for a bus trip, something that hasn't been done in recent years. Because of the distance, it is not common for us to bring group visits from out-of-state. However, due to the connection Patrick has with this school, the school counselor jumped on the opportunity. She plans to bring a full bus of students to visit campus in February, and she requested some of her former students to be tour guides for the group. Patrick's dedication to fostering connections between Kutztown University and these out-of-state schools promotes growth in our enrollment funnel and diversifies of campus community.
Outside of his travel, Patrick has stepped up inside the office, taking on new roles as co-lead to the tour guides and our office's assessment after another employee left her position. He has handled these new responsibilities with confidence and effectiveness, and the tour guides have embraced Patrick's witty humor and commitment to their own success. Patrick, being a "townie" and alum, has an unwavering dedication to Kutztown University, for the betterment of the campus community and Kutztown at large.”
Hanaway:
“Patrick continues to go above and beyond the call of duty at the Office of Admissions. Not only does he recruit just in Pennsylvania, but he also covers every other area not assigned to the rest of the assistant directors. This includes travelling to states like New Jersey and Delaware.
In addition to recruitment, Patrick works closely with the tour guides. He conducts interviews every semester, plans training, helps complete office tasks alongside the tour guides during the guides' office shift, and possesses a warm and welcoming personality allowing anyone in the office to approach him and confide in him at all times. Patrick plays an integral role in the mission of the admissions office and his presence is felt each and every day.”
