KU Council of Trustees Honor Hawkinson with Resolution at Thursday's June Meeting

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University Council of Trustees issued a resolution in honor of university president Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson to highlight the Council’s June 2025 board meeting Thursday afternoon.

The resolution recognized Hawkinson for his contributions and service to Kutztown University. The resolution states:

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson served as president of Kutztown University for the past ten years; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson served Kutztown University faithfully, earnestly, and with great distinction throughout his tenure as president; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson guided the university through significant challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, to keep Kutztown University stable and successful; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson enhanced the academic profile of the university through student recruitment and retention; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson oversaw the accomplishment of a balanced budget for seven years; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson presided over a record-setting fundraising campaign of $46,852,180; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson achieved the establishment and refurbishment of campus facilities; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson enhanced campus diversity, particularly among the student body; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson celebrated unparalleled success by many Golden Bear athletic programs; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson was a dedicated advocate and supporter of the arts, music, history, and cultural events at Kutztown University; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson accomplished all of this while tirelessly engaging the campus and local community at his residence and beyond with the help of his wife, Ann Marie Hayes-Hawkinson, and their loyal dog, Wynnie.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson be formally recognized, through this resolution, for his exemplary service to Kutztown University while serving as the institution’s twelfth president from 2015 to 2025.

RESOLVED, this fifth day of June in the year 2025.
