Kutztown University Named Best for Vets by Military Times for 11th Straight Year
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University has once again been recognized as a 2025 "Best for Vets" college by The Military Times. This ranking marks the 11th consecutive year that KU has been recognized by The Military Times, which publishes the largest and most comprehensive ranking of schools for military service members and veterans.
Among other honors, KU is ranked sixth in Pennsylvania and 16th in the Mid-Atlantic region. This recognition aligns with KU's "Guard Friendly" designation from the PA National Guard Association earlier this year and KU's long history of serving military-connected students.
Kutztown University offers many services for veterans, military members and military-affiliated students who are using their veteran parent benefits, including a Military and Veterans Services Office. This fall, KU celebrated its military and veteran community and their families with a week of activities during its annual Veterans Awareness and Appreciation Week.
KU has a single point-of-contact who aids and coordinates services. To make the pursuit of academic goals more manageable, KU offers military education benefits assistance, academic advising, career planning, counseling and Army ROTC. KU awards credit for military training and recognizes CLEP and DANTES scores. Veterans’ liaisons are available in key offices, and faculty and staff participate in sensitivity training.
KU's advisory board meets regularly to implement veteran-friendly policy. Its student veteran organization provides services to students and the community through programming and fundraisers.
The Military Times survey is sent annually to colleges and universities nationwide. The results are then analyzed, alongside public data about institutions obtained from the Department of Education and Department of Veterans Affairs before being turned into an official ranking. Schools were asked to complete the survey earlier this year, and the responses were then analyzed by The Military Times data team, producing the highly anticipated annual ranking.
