Ninth Annual Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Awareness and Prevention Set for April 23

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – In partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), Kutztown University will host the ninth annual Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Awareness and Prevention 3 p.m., Sunday, April 23, DMZ. A ceremony will begin at 3 p.m., followed by the campus walk.

Local organizations including the Berks County Suicide Prevention Task Force, Tower Behavioral Health and Robbie's Hope will be on site providing resources and information to walkers. All funds raised go to AFSP, the leader in the fight against suicide. Out of the Darkness Walks allow AFSP to fund research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, raise awareness and support survivors of suicide loss. Led by CEO Robert Gebbia and headquartered in New York, the AFSP has local chapters in all 50 states. Even if you are unable to attend the walk, please consider a donation which can be made on KU's walk page.
