Evans To Serve as KU's Interim VP for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Krista D. Evans will serve as interim vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Kutztown University, effective Nov. 1. Evans has been director of Admissions at KU since May 2019.

"I’m honored to serve Kutztown University in this capacity and look forward to continued collaboration with my incredible colleagues in Enrollment Management and Student Affairs,” Evans said. “They each play a critical role in supporting our students – their dedication is inspiring. I’m grateful for this opportunity and will do all I can to serve our students and to enhance the KU community through recruitment and retention."

The forthcoming appointment was announced today by Kutztown University president Dr. Kenneth S. Hawkinson. Evans will succeed interim vice president Dr. Donavan D. McCargo, who was named vice president of Campus Life and Dean of Students at Arcadia University, Glenside, Pa. McCargo will begin his appointment at Arcadia Dec. 1.

“Krista has done a tremendous job leading our Admissions program since her arrival and is responsible for much of the success we have had with our enrollment,” Hawkinson said. “She brings a long history of management experience to the position and will be a strong fit in carrying on the level of excellence set by her predecessor.”

Evans has nearly 25 years of experience in admissions, including the last three at KU. Prior to KU, Evans served at Lehigh University for nearly 20 years, including senior associate director of Admissions and interim director of Admissions. She began her career as an intern in the Penn State University Admissions Office. She then became an admissions counselor at Cedar Crest College in 1998.

Evans holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, where she graduated with distinction and minored in business. She earned a master's degree in counseling psychology and a certification in secondary school counseling from Lehigh University.
