Congratulations to Melinda Quiñones on being named Kutztown University Employee of the Month for September 2021.

Quiñones’ multiple nominations from students Aaron Springer, Jordan Pettit, Brandi Cieniawa, Ruby Garcia and Amani Justice, read:

“Melinda is deserving of the Employee of the Month Award because she is such a hard-working and selfless person. You can tell she cares deeply for her students and fellow employees because she goes the extra mile for everyone around her, whether it is being an open ear for a student in need, or doing “little things” like buying snacks for the students who come to the Multicultural Center to hang out or study.”

“Melinda personifies inclusivity. Whether it's creating a culture of inclusion and safety for her students at the MCC, or planning inclusivity events for our campus community, Melinda keeps an open mind. She is happy to collaborate with others to spread awareness of social issues and celebrate our many cultures.”

“She welcomes every student who visits the Multicultural Center with kindness and positive energy, treating everyone she meets with respect.”

“She has been doing all that is in her power to make the MCC even better than it was before.”

“Melinda makes the Multicultural Center feel like a second home to many students - including all of us.”

Note: recipients will be recognized in order of presentation, due to scheduling conflicts.

Nominations are collected from students, faculty and staff, and the Employee of the Month is selected by the Human Resources Advisory Council. A winner will be selected each month, and out of the 12 monthly winners one will be selected as Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Month will receive a plaque, reserved parking and a $100 monetary gift sponsored by President Hawkinson.
