Finals Vibes: Ed Students Turn Beekey into a Study Hub

Six students in the Department of Elementary, Middle Level, Library and Learning Technologies in the College of Education brought joyful energy to finals week by creating a pop‑up study session in the Beekey Education Center. With Taylor Swift setting the soundtrack and a playful "giftmas" exchange happening on the side, the group blended collaboration, care and a bit of celebration, proof that academic hustle and community can go hand in hand. Their peer‑organized session turned review time into a supportive space where questions were welcome, concepts clicked and spirits stayed high. Here's to our Golden Bears for modeling how to finish strong: study together, lift one another up and keep the vibes positive all the way through finals.

KUSBDC Client Earns Second Place at Veterans Business Bootcamp Pitch Competition

Max Justice, founder of Setas Eternal Living, earned second place at the Veterans Business Bootcamp Pitch Competition and Showcase Friday, Nov. 21, Penn State Harrisburg. Justice was awarded $2,500 for his business pitch. Justice prepared for the competition with one-on-one consulting support from the Kutztown University Small Business Development Center (SBDC), in collaboration with Penn State Harrisburg LaunchBox. Lorena Bravo, bilingual business consultant with the Kutztown University SBDC, worked closely with Justice to prepare for the competition. Her support focused on strengthening his pitch strategy, clarifying his business model and navigating funding focused opportunities available to early stage and veteran-owned businesses. Bravo's work reflects the SBDC's ongoing commitment to helping entrepreneurs understand, pursue and compete for capital through pitch competitions, grants and other funding pathways. The Veterans Business Bootcamp Pitch Competition connects veteran entrepreneurs with resources, training and funding opportunities across Pennsylvania's entrepreneurship ecosystem. The Kutztown University SBDC provides confidential, no cost consulting and educational services to small-business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in Berks County and the surrounding region. Services include business planning, financial analysis, market research and preparation for funding readiness. Justice's achievement highlights the impact of dedicated consulting support and the role of the Kutztown University SBDC in advancing access to capital for Pennsylvania entrepreneurs.
