Saidi to Host Fall 2025 Chambliss Faculty Lecture Nov. 4
Kutztown University is proud to host an engaging and interactive lecture by Dr. Christine Saidi, professor of African and World History, for Kutztown University’s Fall 2025 Chambliss Faculty Lecture 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 183 McFarland Student Union. In addition to the in-person event, this year's Chambliss lecture will be available as a webinar on Zoom. All are welcome to attend.

College of Education Faculty Invited to Participate in National Convening on Mathematics Education
Dr. Tracy Driehaus, assistant dean for Clinical Education and Partnerships; Dr. Michele White, Elementary, Middle Level, Library and Technologies Education; and Dr. Karise Mace, Secondary Education, Kutztown Area School District, represented Kutztown University at the Branch Alliance for Educator Diversity (BranchED) Fall Convening, Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, Charlotte, N.C. This national gathering brought together 25 math educators from across the country under the theme "Stories Move Us," exploring the power of storytelling as a catalyst for equity, engagement and connection in math education, educator preparation and professional learning. Kutztown's selection reflects the College of Education's growing national presence and commitment to innovation in practice-based teacher education.

Grow with Google: Customer-Focused Marketing
The Kutztown University Small Business Development Center (SBDC), in partnership with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) and Grow with Google, will host a free online workshop, "Launch and Grow Your Business with Customer-Focused Marketing," 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4. Register online. This interactive training is designed to help entrepreneurs and small-business owners across Pennsylvania strengthen their marketing strategies by focusing on the needs, motivations and experiences of their customers. Participants will learn how to create a compelling brand, define and reach their target audience, convert leads into loyal customers and build lasting advocacy to drive business growth. The Kutztown University SBDC serves as a statewide leader in supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs through no-cost consulting, training and educational resources. As part of the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (PASBDC) network, the KU SBDC provides entrepreneurs with the tools and expertise they need to start, manage and grow successful ventures across the commonwealth. This session reflects the center's ongoing commitment to advancing entrepreneurship and helping Pennsylvania's small-business community thrive in today's digital economy. Winter Break Hours
Winter Break hours will begin Monday, Dec. 15, and remain in effect through Friday, Jan. 16, a week before the start of classes. Winter hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a half-hour lunch. Anyone who needs to maintain the normal academic year hours may submit a request through their supervisory line. Approval for such a request will be at the vice-presidential level and should be communicated to Human Resources.

Mock Interview Mania Week
The Career Development Center is excited to have 21 dedicated volunteer professionals helping 126 KU students sharpen their interview skills as part of this week's Mock Interview Mania Week, Nov. 3-7. Each semester, this event provides students with a chance to practice with experienced recruiters and receive valuable, real-time feedback to boost their confidence and career readiness. A huge thank you to our volunteers, as well as our faculty and staff who encouraged students to participate.

Fall 2025 Late-Start Courses Attendance Verification Process
The initial attendance verification for late-start courses, which is required federally for awarding of financial aid Policy ACA-090, is available in Starfish through Tuesday, Nov. 4. Faculty should indicate whether students have "Attended" or have "Never Attended" by utilizing one of two flags. Please be sure to verify the attendance status of every student. No. 1 Field Hockey tops No. 2 Shippensburg 2-0 to cap Perfect 18-0 Regular Season
The No. 1-ranked Kutztown University field hockey team proved once again why it's the top team in the nation, defeating No. 2-ranked Shippensburg University 2-0 Saturday night, Nov. 1, at Andre Reed Stadium to close out a perfect 18-0 regular season. The victory marked the Golden Bears' (18-0, 9-0 PSAC) first-ever perfect PSAC campaign and just their second undefeated regular season in program history, joining the 1971 team (5 wins, 3 ties). With the regular season now complete, KU turns its attention to the postseason. The top-seeded Golden Bears will host a PSAC semifinal matchup 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, Andre Reed Stadium. KU will face the winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal between No. 4 seed West Chester and No. 5 seed IUP, scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4.

No. 4 Football Claims Third Straight PSAC East Crown with 49-6 Win over East Stroudsburg
Fourth-ranked Kutztown University football maintained its perch atop the PSAC East by securing its third straight divisional title and fifth in the last six seasons with a convincing 49-6 victory over rival East Stroudsburg at Andre Reed Stadium Saturday afternoon, Nov. 1. The Golden Bears moved to 9-0 on the season and 6-0 in the PSAC East with one week of divisional play remaining. Kutztown already owns a win over second-place Shepherd (5-1) and sent the Warriors (4-2), its only remaining challenger for the title, to their second conference loss of the season. Saturday's win was the 99th of head coach Jim Clements' KU career. Clements improved to 99-29 in his 11th season with KU. The Golden Bears will look to wrap up their third straight unbeaten run through the PSAC East next Saturday, Nov. 8, on the road at Bloomsburg (2 p.m.). They'll host the PSAC Championship Game Saturday, Nov. 15.
