Kaufinger Presents Chambliss Faculty Lecture

Dr. Gregory Kaufinger, professor of accounting, presented Kutztown University's Spring 2026 Chambliss Research Lecture, “Sparks that Start Fires: How Everyday Curiosity Ignites Academic Breakthroughs,” Tuesday, March 10. The presentation explored Kaufinger's scholarly journey, focusing on how a simple question about an unused gift card uncovers earnings management practices and evolves into research offering practical lessons for transparency, governance and better business decisions.

Financial Aid Services Temporary Relocation Spring Break Week

The Financial Aid Services team will be temporarily relocating to the Student Accounts Office suite, 225 Stratton, for the week of Spring Break. We will have financial aid representatives available to assist with any in-person financial aid assistance during the week. GotYour6 Military Community Awareness Training

The Green Zone/Got Your Six training is 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 250 MSU. The training provides faculty and staff with insight into the student-veteran transition, addressing unique needs and vital resources to help them become effective campus advocates. Call for Student Work: How to Know a Tree Exhibition

Please share with students: this is an invitation for students to submit multidisciplinary work related to trees. The “How to Know a Tree” exhibition can include scientific research, creative writing, geographic mapping, creative artistic works and more. All disciplines are welcome. The exhibition will be held Monday, April 20, to Monday, May 11, MSU Gallery, with a reception Thursday, April 23, during the Arbor Day celebrations on campus. Have students email their questions or submissions to yoppolo@kutztown.edu by Wednesday, April 15.

2027 Chambliss Faculty Research Award: Call for Nominations

We invite you to submit nominations for the 2027 Chambliss Faculty Research Award. The Chambliss Faculty Research Award, inaugurated in 2004 through a gift from Dr. Carlson R. Chambliss, recognizes the very highest achievement in research and scholarship. Every year, up to two awards can be given. Each award includes a medal engraved with the awardee’s name, a certificate of recognition and a cash prize of $250. Please note that there is the expectation that each awardee will present a lecture on some aspect of their work in Spring 2027 or Fall 2027. To recommend a colleague or to self-nominate, please send a letter of nomination and a curriculum vitae for the nominee to Karen Rauch, chair, Chambliss Faculty Research Award Selection Committee, by Friday, April 3. All materials should be submitted electronically to rauch@kutztown.edu.
