Spotlight on Teaching Excellence: KU Graduate Course Unites Local Educators and Recent Graduates

Last week, Kutztown University hosted a dynamic graduate course on differentiated instruction, taught by Dr. Darlene Schoenly, assistant professor, Elementary, Middle Level, Library and Technologies Education. The course enrolled 29 graduate students and brought together a vibrant mix of practicing educators from local school districts, recent graduates and candidates in KU's Graduate Reading Specialist program. With more than 150 students, KU's Graduate Reading Specialist program is one of the largest in Pennsylvania. A signature feature of the program is its innovative reading internship model, which places graduate students directly in local schools to gain hands-on experience while supporting district literacy goals. These internships are highly valued and often lead to full-time teaching positions. This course exemplifies KU's commitment to excellence in teaching and its strong partnerships with regional schools. By engaging educators in advanced instructional strategies, the College of Education continues to foster professional growth and strengthen the connection between theory and practice. Kudos to all for a very successful course.

KU Campus Store Update

We've enhanced our store layout at the KU Campus Store to create a streamlined experience designed for the ultimate student convenience. Some exciting changes include:
- Convenient counter service where our staff will assist students by pulling the required hard copy textbooks and course materials they wish to purchase. Our counter service is located near the external entrance of the store.
- Efficient web order processing is still the best way for students to acquire their course materials. The web order pick-up location is adjacent to the textbook counter service.
- Refreshed art department with new product offerings that are organized for easy shopping. This area is now located in the back section of the store where course materials used to be located.
- Expanded apparel area for improved accessibility and greater visibility to showcase our new selection of KU branded apparel.

We invite you to visit us in our newly remodeled space.
