Senior Sunset Celebrates Future Educators

The College of Education hosted its Senior Sunset Tuesday, Dec. 9, an evening dedicated to honoring student teachers graduating in Fall 2025. This special tradition brought together students, faculty and mentor teachers from our partnering schools to celebrate the culmination of the students' professional semester and the transition from student to educator. Held on the lawn outside of the Beekey Education Center and in MSU, the event featured light refreshments, photo opportunities and heartfelt words of encouragement from faculty. Graduates recited the Educator's Oath, affirming their commitment to the profession and the students they will serve. Each future student teacher was also pinned by their mentor, a symbolic gesture formally inducting them into the field of education and the teaching profession. The evening concluded with a celebratory toast, marking the start of their careers and the bright futures ahead. For future teachers, the student-teaching semester is the capstone experience, blending theory with real-world practice. Recognizing this achievement underscores KU's commitment to community, care and celebration of student success. Traditions like the Senior Sunset set Kutztown apart, creating a sense of belonging and pride that lasts well beyond graduation. Congratulations to our newest Golden Bears in education. Your dedication and passion will make a lasting impact in classrooms across the commonwealth and beyond.
