UGRC Offers Successful Student Research Workshop Series

Did you know research is a high-impact practice that leads to transformational learning, preparedness for graduate school and career opportunities as well as a discovery of academic interests, self-confidence and community? In coordination with the Title III Grant, Undergraduate Research and Creativity (UGRC) offered its Spring 2025 student research workshop series over seven sessions from Feb. 13 through April 10. Twenty six unique students attending 40 sessions (plus one alumni) participated in the revamped tiered classification of topic offerings, taught by KU faculty, staff and students, to help students determine which sessions were most fitting for their current needs and interests in their research journey. Students who attend two sessions over their academic career receive a Certificate of Recognition and those who attend five sessions receive the Credly "Research Workshop Series" badge and an announcement in the College News section of their hometown newspaper. The workshop series occurs every spring semester and UGRC is open to coordinating with faculty and student support offices to find innovative ways to encourage our students to embrace this academic opportunity.
