KU Rises in 2027 U.S. News and World Report Rankings for Best Regional Universities

Kutztown University has been named a "Best Regional University" for 2027 in the U.S. News and World Report's annual ranking of U.S. colleges and universities. U.S. News lists KU as No. 107 in the first tier of the Best Regional Universities for the northern region, five spots higher than last year. KU has been ranked in the first tier since 2011. Additionally, KU improved nine spots to No. 33 among Top Public Schools for Regional Universities in the North.

Installation Artist in Sharadin's Miller Gallery

The KU Miller Gallery is excited to announce that Ben Zamora (Seattle) is the Installation Artist in Residence for Fall 2026. Zamora is currently creating a LED light installation/exhibition with the help of students and volunteers. The exhibition opens to the public Thursday, Oct. 1, with a reception from 3-5 p.m. It is on view until the end of the semester. The Miller Gallery is located off the Atrium of the Sharadin Arts Building. Zamora's work moves seamlessly between performance and visual art, where he creates light-based sculptures and art installations for performance-based work, including projects with Kronos Quartet, Saint Genet, Director - Peter Sellars, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Barbican, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has created large-scale installations and sculptures for the Park Avenue Armory in New York, The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Amsterdam Light Festival, Kunsthalle Krems in Austria, Vienna Festival, Holland Festival, The Frye Art Museum, Suyama Space, as well as a number of galleries, museums, private art collections and public art projects.

Clay Club's Visiting Artist Bryan Czibesz

Bryan Czibesz explores a range of materials and fabrication technologies, including hand building with clay, digital 3D printing and tinkering with microcontrollers. The resultant sculptural configurations are juxtapositions of body and machine that invoke binary dialogues about the biological and artificial, intriguing and mundane, graceful and awkward, refined and ridiculous and foreign and uncanny in the human experience, often with the viewer acting as active witness/participant. Czibesz will be showing how to build complexity into pieces by constructing forms using multiple 3D printed clay forms. His artist lecture is 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 108 Sharadin. There will be three opportunities to see his demonstrations; 4-6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, noon to 3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 108 Sharadin.

PASSHE Summit Registration

In five weeks, Kutztown University is excited to be hosting the PASSHE Summit, Oct. 28-29. Thank you to our host committee for all the hard work leading up to the summit. Even though the event is on campus, members of the Kutztown community will still need to register for the summit. Registration closes Wednesday, Oct. 14, and there are options to attend in person or virtually. Registration is free for all PASSHE students, staff and faculty. There will be great keynote and other speakers, so please register as soon as possible.

Fifth Annual KU Career Classic Golf and Networking Outing

The Career Development Center, in partnership with the KU Men’s Golf Club and College of Business, hosted its fifth annual KU Career Classic Golf and Networking Outing Friday, Sept. 11 at Golden Oaks Golf Club.
