Cavalier Featured as Influential Business Leader by Lehigh Valley Business
Dr. Phil Cavalier, university president, was recently featured in the Lehigh Valley Business LVB 300, which recognizes the most influential business leaders shaping the Greater Lehigh Valley's economy. Friday: Student Convocation
Please attend this year's Student Convocation, 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, O'Pake Fieldhouse, to welcome our new students to KU. Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to attend this year's student convocation. Please arrive by 12:45 p.m. so employees are in place to cheer on and welcome our students as they enter the fieldhouse at approximately 1 p.m. Free t-shirts will be available to the first 100 employees. Bring water to stay cool. With Keystone Hall currently under renovation, please enter O'Pake Fieldhouse from the sidewalk across from Dixon Hall and along the rear of the building, adjacent to Keystone Field. MSU Parking Lot
Parking lot A1 (MSU) has been repaved and had the physical meters removed and replaced with a digital payment system. A1 remains a pay-to-park lot, through the new digital system, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday during the academic year, beginning Monday, Aug. 24. The cost will be $0.75/30 minutes, with a maximum of 90 minutes. The only method of payment is mobile – no app is required. Instructions are available on parking lot signage and include the options of a QR code to scan or a number to text. Vehicle license plate will need to be entered into the mobile payment portal. Questions can be directed to the MSU Information Desk at 610-683-4018. For longer-term parking, students, faculty and staff should utilize the parking permit process and park in their assigned lot on campus. Visitors should obtain a visitor parking permit.

Retirement Planning - TIAA On Campus
TIAA will be on campus 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, for financial consulting sessions with TIAA retirement account holders. To schedule a time to meet with the consultant, please go to tiaa.org/schedulenow or call 800-842-2252.

Social Media Training
The Office of University Relations is hosting a Social Media Training for KU employees and students who manage university social media accounts. This one-hour, in-person training is highly encouraged for all employees who have social media responsibilities. Topics will include university brand standards, AI best practices, managing comments, account responsibility and more. Registration is required. Please attend one of the three training sessions available in September.

Interfolio Demonstration for Promotion and Tenure Candidates
A voluntary session demonstrating Interfolio, the university’s platform for promotion and tenure applications for the 2026–2027 cycle, will be held 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 20, via Zoom. The session will be approximately 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute Q&A. The demonstration will focus on the process for uploading promotion material, however, the tenure process will follow the same format. In addition, the session will be recorded for those who cannot attend. Information will follow regarding an on-campus training in mid-October.

Field Hockey Positioned First in PSAC Preseason Poll
For the third season in a row, Kutztown University field hockey is favored to win the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference as KU was tabbed first in the preseason poll, as voted on by the conference's head coaches. The Golden Bears had a record-breaking 20-2 campaign last year that featured the most wins in a single season in program history, the longest winning streak (19 games) and new single-season program records for goals (101) and assists (67). They also led the nation in penalty corners with 304 (more than 13 per game) and allowed a Division II-low 15 goals all season.

Football Ranked No. 3 in AFCA Division II Preseason Poll
Kutztown University received its highest-ever preseason national ranking in program history with the release of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Preseason Poll. The three-time defending PSAC champion and 2025 Super Region 1 champion Golden Bears checked in at No. 3 ahead of the 2026 season. Kutztown is coming off a school record 14 victories (14-1) in 2025 and advanced to the national semifinals for the second time in three years.
