Meal Chat Companions - Welcome Weekend 2026
To help new students integrate and feel a sense of belonging at KU, we are looking for a few volunteers to be Meal Chat Companions during move-in/welcome weekend Thursday, Aug. 20 through Saturday, Aug. 22. Meal Chat Companions will be in the South Dining Hall during lunch and dinner to help new students who might be eating alone, to make connections with a Meal Chat Companion or other new students. You will simply be on the lookout for a new student eating alone and either invite them to join another nearby table or join them yourself and share a meal together. If you are interested in being a Meal Chat Companion, please complete this form to list your available mealtimes. More details will follow. If you have any questions, please contact Jerry Schearer.
