KU Students Learning in Washington, D.C.
Last week, seven students were awarded scholarships from the Commonwealth to go to Washington, D.C., and participate in The Washington Center’s academic seminar “National Security." Students attending were, Samantha Balitza, game development, Arthur Giza, secondary education social studies, Ange Harris, criminal justice, Aaron Hix, criminal justice, Rachael Lund, marketing, Brandon Reyes-Perez, computer science, and Corey Stonerook, criminal justice. They learned from government agencies, think tanks and media outlets about national security challenges facing the world today. This summer, two additional students, Anjali de Leon-Bello, art history and history, and Matthew Ventura, computer science, will spend ten weeks at The Washington Center completing internships in the nation's capital.
