A Gathering of Hands: A Celebration of the Labors of Sustenance

Sponsored by the KU Clay Club, this garden party and art exhibition is 4-7 p.m. Sunday, May 4, Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center (next to the garden and farmhouse). This event offers a tasting menu of locally grown, raised and produced foods by Colleen Fitzgerald of Heart and Hearth Deli. All will be served on ceramics produced by KU students, with table linens colored by the plants from the KU-Rodale Institute Collaborative Dye Gardens. For more information, contact yoppolo@kutztown.edu. RSVP to attend online. Suggested donation of $25 will help us cover the cost of our collaborating chef. You will be able to keep your plate, designed by student Kathryn Powell. Proceeds from sales of artwork will be donated to the PA Farm Preservation Association.

Annual Out of the Darkness Walk May 4

Join us for our annual Out of the Darkness Walk, benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), Sunday, May 4, DMZ. Registration begins at 1 p.m. followed by a ceremony before the walk at 2 p.m. Gather your team to walk and support our efforts online. These walks occur in cities, communities and campuses nationwide. Our Campus Walk is an opportunity for those affected by suicide and their supporters to raise awareness and essential funds, sending a strong message that suicide is preventable and that no one is alone. If you are unable to participate in the walk, you can still contribute by making a donation to AFSP online. If you are part of a community group or would like your club to have a table with an activity on the day of the walk, please contact Dr. Brenner by Thursday, May 1. Together, we aim to bring home the message "Hope Walks Here" at Kutztown University.
