Celebrate Regional Folklife and America's 250th at Heemet Fescht Sept. 26
Heemet Fescht celebrates America's 250th with live music in the barnyard, traditional crafts, presentations, folklife demonstrations, hearth-cooking, farm animals, children's activities and more. Indulge your interest in regional folk culture at the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center's Heemet Fescht 2026: a celebration of Pennsylvania Dutch folklife and America's 250th, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. Heemet (pronounced HAY-met) means "home" in Pennsylvania Dutch. Located on the historic Sharadin Farmstead at Kutztown University at 22 Luckenbill Road, Kutztown, the event is free, fun and educational for the whole family.

Thank you to those who kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month with our Bienvenidos event Tuesday, Sept. 15. Hispanic Heritage Month runs through Oct. 15. Throughout the celebration, the Multicultural Center will host a variety of opportunities for students and the campus community to connect, learn, celebrate and experience Hispanic and Latine cultures.

The Career Development Center, in partnership with the KU Men’s Golf Club and College of Business, hosted its fifth annual KU Career Classic Golf and Networking Outing Friday, Sept. 11 at Golden Oaks Golf Club. We truly appreciate everyone who contributed to another memorable outing and helped make it a great experience for our KU community and business partners. EAB Workshop: Reengaging Adult Learners
The Adult Degree Completion Task Force invites you to join them 2-3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 250 MSU, 317 Stratton or Zoom, for an important conversation about today’s adult learners, what motivates them to return to college and how KU can better support them through degree completion. All EAB Task Force members should plan to attend at 250 MSU.

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is introducing a workplace wellness program open to all KU faculty and staff, delivering 2-to-5-minute micro-tips directly to your inbox to help reduce stress and digital fatigue.
Daily Themes:
- Mindful Mondays: Resets to anchor your week
- Tranquil Tune-Up Tuesdays: Screen-free eye and posture breaks
- Wellness Wednesdays: Midweek energy and focus boosters
- Thoughtful Thursdays: Practical self-compassion tools
- Feature Fridays: Peer-submitted tips and work hacks
Delivery options: Choose between Daily Micro-Habits (2-to-3-minute morning prompts) or a Weekly Digest (5-minute Friday roundup).
Referral Bonus: Refer a colleague, or sign up using a colleague’s referral, to be entered into a drawing to win KU gear and other prizes.

Student Earns TEAM-UP Together Scholarship
Physics student Isabella Venezian was awarded a TEAM-UP Together Scholarship. TEAM-UP Together is a collective action initiative established by the American Association of Physics Teachers, American Astronomical Society, American Institute of Physics, American Physical Society and Society of Physics Students to drive systemic change in the physical sciences community. The TEAM-UP Together Scholarship Program launched in 2022 to help alleviate some of the financial barriers preventing some students from pursuing or completing physics and astronomy degrees.
