Gender and Sexual Minorities Conference Oct. 1-3
We are proud to invite the campus community to the ninth annual Gender and Sexual Minorities Conference Wednesday, Oct. 1, through Friday, Oct. 3, for this annual educational forum that highlights the experiences, struggles, progress and movements toward equity and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community. Please find the full schedule on the LGBTQ+ Resource Center website. Each day of the conference brings a wide array of sessions focusing on this year’s theme, “LGBTQ+ History: Honoring our Past, Present and Future.” Our keynote speaker, Broadway performer and debut author Chloe Davis, will present at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 218 MSU. Her book, "The Queen's English," is a dictionary and colorful collection of LGBTQIA+ language with cultural references and usage notes. Davis will share her insights on the history of the language that represents a diverse community of LGBTQ+ and queer people and life experiences. She will also be available after her session for a book signing. Please encourage folks to RSVP on Engage for the specific session they will attend. Boost Your Business Visibility: Get Found on Google Search
The Kutztown University Small Business Development Center (SBDC), in partnership with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) and a certified Google Coach, invites entrepreneurs and small-business owners to a free, Google-sponsored virtual workshop "Get Found on Google Search," 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, via Zoom. This interactive session will help businesses strengthen their online presence and attract more customers by improving their visibility on Google Search and Maps. Participants will learn practical strategies for optimizing their Google Business Profile, using reviews and photos effectively and increasing credibility with potential customers. The workshop is designed to be accessible and actionable, offering tools that participants can apply immediately to improve their digital presence. Whether you are just setting up your profile or looking for ways to maximize its impact, this session provides expert guidance from a certified Google Coach. University Senate Elections
Elections are open for several representatives to university committees. Faculty and staff eligible to vote in these elections received an email from "Messaging Portal" with a subject line containing "University Senate" that includes the link for voting. Voting will close 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1. Please take the time to vote using this form or the link in the email. If you have questions about the positions, contact senate@kutztown.edu. First Step – Your Path to Business Ownership
The Kutztown Small Business Development Center, in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Pennsylvania One Stop Shop, SCORE and Quaint Oak Bank, is pleased to offer "Startup Success Hour, Your Path to Business Ownership," a free weekly webinar, noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6. These sessions are designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs take their first, most important step toward launching a business in Pennsylvania. This interactive "help desk" format provides practical insights, tools and strategies to strengthen your brand and grow your business in today’s digital marketplace. Those who should attend include small-business owners seeking to improve their marketing results; entrepreneurs looking to build a stronger online presence; anyone struggling with social media strategy, branding or Canva design; and business owners wanting actionable guidance on digital marketing best practices. Attendance Verification Success: 99.7% Participation Across KU
We are thrilled to celebrate an incredible achievement from this fall semester. R. Chad Brown, director for Student Success and Academic Excellence, shared that 99.7% of KU faculty participated in the Attendance Verification process, a truly outstanding participation rate. This level of engagement is impressive. Communicating attendance helps us understand our students, ensure they are present and lay the foundation for their success.
