KU Radio Can Be a Component to Your Class

KU's award-winning campus radio station KUR is more than a source of listening entertainment. KUR can act as a learning component to classes taught by faculty. Past successful examples include public relations students recording two-minute segments on why they chose KU, science students recording weather forecasts and astronomy segments, and music students recording musical history segments. The result includes fantastic features for the station to air and gradable material for faculty to use as part of their class. To make KUR a part of your class, contact station advisor/director Mike Regensburger at regensbu@kutztown.edu to learn more.

He will make the case for an experience that includes the beautiful exploration of new knowledge, as well as the explicit cultivation of civic skills and values. Dewsbury will discuss why this revisiting is particularly crucial to the retethering of higher education to a civically just society.

CEL Hosts AI Workshop

The Center for Engaged Learning (CEL) hosted an AI workshop Wednesday, Aug. 13, designed to help KU faculty navigate the rapidly evolving role of AI in higher education. The day-long, hands-on session provided faculty with the time, resources and peer support needed to explore the impact of AI on teaching and learning. Morning activities focused on updating syllabi and first-day handouts to address the use of AI, while the afternoon centered on considering student motivation and refining assignments with AI in mind. The workshop brought together 20 faculty members from all four colleges and Rohrbach Library, sparking lively, cross-disciplinary conversations that kept the discussions both engaging and thought-provoking. See our recent CEL Journal post for more information and materials.
