PSAC 75th Anniversary Celebration

This year, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference proudly celebrates its 75th anniversary, honoring decades of academic excellence, athletic competition and tradition across all 17 of its member institutions. As part of this milestone, the PSAC is recognizing 300 honorees including 75 of its greatest male athletes, 75 greatest female athletes, 75 honorees that were "Made in the PSAC" and have gone on to outstanding success in their professional careers, and 75 "Distinguished Keystones" – those individuals that have had a lasting impact on the conference. At halftime of last Saturday's women's basketball game, Renee Hellert, KU director of athletics, alongside Steve Murray, PSAC commissioner, presented plaques to honorees in attendance, including (L to R): Marci Scheuing, head field hockey coach; Tara Crozier Defelice, track and field alumnae; Judy Lawes, head softball coach; Liz DiLullo Brown, field hockey alumnae; and David Borden, football alumnus.

Welcome to the Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar would like to welcome some new staff to our office. Chelsea Epstein is our new front desk receptionist assisting walk-in students, undergraduate withdrawals and supporting undergraduate graduation. Julie Fiorini moved from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to join us as the management technician covering the regoffice@kutztown.edu inbox, enrollment verification, name/preferred name/address changes and FERPA processing. Eleni Feggulis joined us from the Department of Sport Management in Fall 2025 to be our management technician, handling undergraduate change of majors, grade changes, course repeat checks, special delivery courses, etc. To learn more visit the Contact Us website.

Matt Delaney Retirement Celebration

2026-2027 Early Event Registration

The Events Advisory Council has established the deadline for early consideration for room reservations and activities scheduled for the 2026-2027 academic year as noon Friday, March 13, 2026. For more detailed information and guidelines on the process, please visit our webpage. Please consider the following when planning your events for the 2026-2027 academic year:
- All requests must be entered by a faculty or staff member in the EMS Room Reservation System.
- Any early reservation requests for a student organization must be submitted by that organization’s advisor.
- Any events received after noon Friday, March 13, will be handled on a first-come basis after all events submitted within deadline are scheduled.
- All events submitted outside of the 2026-2027 academic year will be handled at the appropriate time according to scheduling policies.

KUF Charles J. Orem Memorial Scholarship

Congratulations to the inaugural recipient of the Charles J. Orem Memorial Scholarship, Rain Gainer, a history major and intern at KU's Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center. This seems like a real full-circle moment, as Orem, father of Lynn Marie Kutch, Department of English, was a history major at KU, Class of 1959.

CEL Assignment Reboot Workshop

In this workshop, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, Rohrbach Library, we'll explore how to redesign assignments in response to AI, using the "I Can. I Care. I Matter." mindset from Teaching with AI to help students demonstrate competence, build meaningful connections and see the relevance of their learning. Along the way, we'll draw on inclusive design strategies to support clarity, motivation and authentic student work in an increasingly AI-influenced environment. You'll have dedicated time to revise your own assignments with practical tools and examples you can apply immediately. Please bring one or two current class assignments. You'll leave with updated versions that are more aligned with your goals, your students and the realities of AI in teaching and learning. Reserve your spot online. Lunch will be provided. CEL Events

Bryant Recognized as PSAC East Athlete of the Week

Jalen Bryant of the Kutztown University men's basketball team was selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Athlete of the Week for the second time in his career. Bryant averaged 22.5 points and five rebounds per game last week, leading the Golden Bears to victories over Cheyney and Lock Haven.
