KU students and bog bodies

KU History Students and Bog Bodies

Six KU undergrads accompanied Dr. Eric Johnson to the National Archaeology Museum to see some of the most important artifacts in prehistoric Ireland. These included four bog bodies from human sacrifices that deposited in the boglands. The conditions in the bogs provide a remarkable degree of preservation. Some even have intact fingerprints. Apart from the basic information that these people practiced human sacrifice, scientists can extract an impressive amount of information from these remains.

South Campus UGI Gas Line Repairs

Our natural gas vendor, UGI, needs to make upgrades to certain lines on campus. There are currently 14 sites on campus. Over the next two weeks, UGI will be focusing on the South Campus repairs. Depending on the location, the work may impact traffic and pedestrian routes. They will have staff directing traffic when roadways are impacted. We do not anticipate the need to completely close any roadways. Additionally, sites will be well marked so pedestrians are aware to avoid the area or use an alternate route. We do not believe these repairs will have a significant impact on campus travel, but if you do go near a work area, be patient as there may be a short delay. Thanks for your patience with this matter.
