Faculty Showcase Leadership at National Ed.D. Convening

Special Education and Elementary, Middle Level, and Library Technologies faculty, along with two former doctoral students, recently showcased their scholarship through publications and national presentations. Dr. Tabetha Bernstein-Danis, Dr. Kathleen Stanfa, Dr. Casey Horvath, alumna and part-time temporary faculty, and Dr. Dawn Laubner, alumna, co-authored an article titled, "Fired up instead of burning out: Developing a tool to facilitate teacher leadership for mid-career teachers," published in Pennsylvania Teacher Educator (Vol. 24, Issue 1). In addition, Bernstein-Danis and Stanfa presented two sessions at the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate Convening in Philadelphia: a pre-conference workshop, “An advocacy narrative of one's own: Using the SAGE protocol to help emerging practitioner-scholars rise as leaders," and a paper, "Cultivating a leadership identity: The SAGE protocol as a tool for practitioner-scholar development in the EdD." Dr. Catherine McGeehan, education doctorate program coordinator, and Stanfa also contributed to the convening with their session, “Reimagining the EdD: A scaffolded, skill-building model for reclaiming professional impact." These accomplishments highlight KU's commitment to advancing research and practice in education. Kutztown University's Education Doctorate program empowers practitioner-scholars to lead transformative change in schools and communities through innovative leadership development.
