Weather

Weather forecasts are provided by KU's Dr. Michael Davis and "Monsoon Mike" Regensburger

Stubborn low pressure begins to lift to the northeast taking most of the clouds and precipitation with it. Could be a shower in the late morning to early afternoon but that threat looks minimal. Partly cloudy otherwise for the day. High temperature near 71.

KUR Goes Mostly 1980s All Summer

Kutztown University Radio (KUR) has kicked off summer a little early. Although listeners loved the 1950s oldies songs last summer, whenever students and specialty shows are not on-air, KUR is playing all 1980s with a dash of 1990s songs. This is not a typical 400-song 1980s playlist as heard on other stations and satellite. We have more than 1,000 1980s (and some early 1990s) radio hits. Give it a listen and let us know if you are enjoying it. We'll also be giving away fun things on-air as well. Please let us know if we are missing your favorite 1980s song. Make KUR your summertime workplace companion. Live stream link is in the below KUR webpage link. Check out KUR today and make it your all day, every day, at work radio station.

Senior Capstone Presentations

The Communication Studies and Social Media Theory and Strategy (SMS) Senior Showcase is 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 223 MSU Formal Dining Room. This event provides graduating seniors the opportunity to demonstrate and celebrate their years of hard work in their respective majors. The last Wednesday of each semester is reserved for soon-to-be graduates, their friends and family, as well as campus dignitaries and rising seniors to learn about senior capstone projects. Majors spend the last semester of their academic careers developing and implementing projects that reflect the principles and fundamentals of the communication studies and SMS disciplines. Many graduating seniors work on their projects for several semesters. These can range from scholarly research projects to working with local businesses developing everything from public relations and publicity plans to creating online and social media content, as well as large-scale strategic communication initiatives. Capstone Night also celebrates graduating seniors through awards and overall, it gives them a special occasion to display their four years of academic growth via a fun and festive evening. The campus community is welcome. Please contact Diana Ebersole, ebersole@kutztown.edu, with any questions about the event.
