Faculty Reflective Writing Retreat Creates Space to Pause, Focus and Move Forward
In the busy rhythm of the academic year, carving out uninterrupted time for reflection and writing can be difficult. On May 27, KU faculty members participated in CEL’s Reflective Writing Retreat, dedicating a full day to refocus their work and make meaningful progress on their current and future projects. Through extended periods of quiet writing, reflective prompts and informal conversation, participants had dedicated space to think deeply, reconnect with their goals and move important work forward. The retreat also created opportunities for faculty across campus to build community, exchange ideas and support one another’s work. By day’s end, participants left with renewed energy, greater clarity and momentum for the summer ahead.

Annual Exercising of Water Valves
Each year, Facilities exercises the main water line valves across campus. This task takes several weeks throughout the summer and has very little impact on the campus buildings. However, there is an off-chance, depending on timing and location, that a very brief disruption may occur. Should you notice the water not working properly or the pressure being too low, please contact WCC x31594. They can reach out to determine if this is simply from exercising the valves or if there is a different issue that requires investigation. We expect most locations will not notice anything out of the ordinary, but we wanted to err on the side of caution and send out this message.

CEL's League of Learning Champion Crowned
Congratulations to Danielle Seier from Physical Sciences, our 2025–26 CEL League of Learning Champion. Danielle earned the top spot by attending more CEL events than anyone else this academic year. CEL also extends a giant thank you to everyone who participated in what has been a banner year for us. During the 2025–26 academic year, well over 100 individuals, more than a quarter of all KU faculty members, attended at least one CEL event. We are grateful for your energy, curiosity and commitment to engaged teaching and learning.
