Broadway’s Cheyenne Jackson at KU Presents

Cheyenne Jackson, who has proven his versatility in Broadway shows, films and television, will tell his unlikely back story in a cabaret performance 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, Schaeffer Auditorium. Along with a four-piece ensemble, he will bring this original one-man show, “An Evening with Cheyenne Jackson,” fresh from its premiere at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Jackson’s diverse and interesting career has included appearances on Broadway, off-Broadway and in regional theater, including leading and supporting roles in “All Shook Up” (2005), “The Agony & the Agony” (2006), “Xanadu” (2007), “Damn Yankees” (2008), “Finian’s Rainbow” (2010), “Once Upon a Mattress” (2024), “Oh, Mary!” (2025-2026) and more. Tickets for Inauguration Ceremony

Dr. Philip Cavalier will be installed as Kutztown University's 13th president 2 p.m. Friday, April 10, Schaeffer Auditorium. Tickets are available for all KU students, faculty and staff to attend the installation ceremony. You must log in/create an account to access tickets on the KU ticketing website. Tickets will not show up if you do not log in. Questions can be sent to the KU Box Office at 610-683-4092, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday.

Fidget Item Bingo, part of the Neurodiversity Celebration Week events, has been moved to 4:30-5:30 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 200 Academic Forum. Like all Neurodiversity Celebration Week events, it is open to students, faculty and staff.

Social Work Presents 22nd Annual Community Forum

The Department of Social Work will hold its annual Community Forum 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 27, Schaeffer Auditorium. The theme of this year’s forum is, "Bridging Knowledge and Practice: Social Work Strategies for Housing Stability." This year’s forum will include speakers from New Bethany, Reading High School, Lebanon VA Medical Center, the Center for Rural Pennsylvania and others. This event intends to bring knowledge about housing problems and potential solutions within Berks, Lehigh and surrounding counties. This event is free to attend. A total of six continuing education credits, including three in ethics, are available for attendees. This is a great opportunity for professional networking. Exceptional Service Awards Announcement

The Provost’s Office announced three new awards to recognize exceptional service: Faculty Exceptional Service Award, Staff Exceptional Service Award and Exceptional Service Award for Diversity. These awards were created to recognize KU faculty and staff that go above and beyond expectations in service of the institution. The new service awards provide the opportunity to validate and laud the work of our colleagues at KU and join other awards in pedagogy, research and general employee activity to bring recognition to the excellence that most members of our community show in their work. Descriptions of the awards can be found on the KU website. Nominations can be submitted using the appropriate form. Deadline for nominations is Tuesday, March 31.

Call for Student Work: How to Know a Tree Exhibition

This is an invitation for students to submit multidisciplinary work related to trees. The “How to Know a Tree” exhibition can include scientific research, creative writing, geographic mapping, creative artistic works and more. All disciplines are welcome. The exhibition will be held Monday, April 20, to Monday, May 11, MSU Gallery, with a reception Thursday, April 23, during the Arbor Day celebrations on campus. Have students email their questions or submissions to yoppolo@kutztown.edu by Wednesday, April 15.
