KU Early College Academy Student Maille McNicholas Shines in WGAL 8 Feature

We are excited to share a WGAL 8 news feature about one of our KU Early College Academy students, Maille McNicholas, who has committed to Kutztown University as an elementary education major. Maille, from Twin Valley High School, is truly remarkable. The 22-minute video highlights Maille's incredible journey. As a high school student, she founded a non-profit organization called ReMARKable You! to help people embrace and recognize their differences (see minute 12:50 in the video). Through this organization, Maille spreads awareness about vascular birthmarks and other anomalies like she has. She also started a ReMARKable Girls Club for girls ages 5-18 to help them find their passions and embrace their differences. Additionally, Maille has raised $28,000 for the Vascular Clinic at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia through her purple polka dot 5K race and a 1-mile family fun run. For more information about Maille, visit the Vascular Birthmarks Foundation website. Maille has signed with Zebedee Talent Agency, the leading agency for those with differences, to promote greater inclusivity in representation. In the video, she mentions her commitment to KU (21:33) and her participation in our dual enrollment program (22:01), though she doesn't officially state the KU Early College Academy. We are proud to have Maille as part of our community and look forward to her continued success at Kutztown University. She is someone to watch.
