Princeton Review Ranks KU as One of Best in Region for 24th Straight Year

Kutztown University has been ranked as one of the Best Colleges in the Mid-Atlantic Region by The Princeton Review for 2027. The education services company is widely known for its test prep programs and college and graduate school guides. KU is among 98 institutions named to the mid-Atlantic regional list. Kutztown University has been included in the regional list in 24 consecutive rankings, dating back to the 2004 rankings released in August 2003.

Fire Safety

Fire doors play a critical role in the safety of building occupants and infrastructure. In the event of a fire, they slow or prevent the spread of smoke and flames, protect vital exit pathways and allow more time to safely evacuate. Some doors automatically close during fire alarm activation. Others are not automatic and must remain closed. If fire doors are propped open or are blocked, they won’t function as designed. This results in greater risks in the event of a fire and can result in other maintenance concerns including premature wear on door openers, overstressing HVAC systems and creating an air pressure imbalance in the building. To identify a fire door, look at the edge of the door. All fire doors have identification tags; they might also have push bars or signage stating that the door must remain closed. Keep the university safe by keeping door pathways clear and ensuring you never prop open a fire door.

Roadway Repairs at Risley Hall

UGI will be on campus to make roadway and landscape repairs behind Risley Hall Monday, Aug. 31 and Tuesday, Sept. 1. Access between the F1 (Stratton) and F4 (basketball courts) parking lots will be closed. Parking may be minimally impacted in the F4 lot along the stadium fence. Please enter and exit F1 from the Normal Avenue entrance. If the project is to last beyond Sept. 1, we will provide updates. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Accessibility Furniture in Classrooms

You may notice desks, chairs, or other classroom furniture marked for accessibility purposes by the Disability Services Office (DSO). This furniture has been placed in specific classrooms to ensure access for students with disabilities. Please do not remove marked accessibility furniture from the classroom or relocate it within the room to an inaccessible location. Keeping this furniture in its designated, accessible location helps ensure that students who need it can access and use it when they arrive for class. Field Hockey Ranked Second in National Preseason Poll

Kutztown University field hockey enters the 2026 season with renewed energy following a historic 2025 campaign that saw it reach the PSAC Championship game and advance to the NCAA semifinals. That success has carried into preseason, with the Golden Bears ranked No. 2 nationally in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II Coaches Poll.
